Nestled quietly on West Patrick Street in Frederick, this American eatery welcomes you with a cozy, unpretentious spirit that invites lingering conversation and genuine smiles. The atmosphere strikes a thoughtful balance—warm enough to feel like a long-time friend’s dining room, yet polished in a way that honors the care poured into every plate.
There’s an easy rhythm here, where friendly service flows quietly around the room and the hum of comfortable chatter blends into the background. As plates arrive, it becomes clear that this isn't just a meal; it’s a quietly confident celebration of local flavor and classic comfort, crafted with a deep respect for tradition and a subtle nod to the Chesapeake Bay’s bounty. The menu encourages sharing and savoring—imagine indulging in freshly prepared oysters that boast a satisfying crispness, or sinking into rich, slow-cooked pot roast that feels like a heartfelt embrace. Meanwhile, occasional surprises like homemade pierogies or thoughtfully prepared roast duck remind you that every visit holds a chance to rediscover something special.
The brothers behind the scenes are a steady presence, weaving decades of family dedication into each detail—from house-made sauces to desserts that evoke a nostalgic sweetness, like a perfectly balanced lemon meringue pie or a chocolate éclair that’s just the right finale. We had such a lovely dinner here! Food was delicious, service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. It's a cozy, comfortable place and we can highly recommend. We'll definitely return to this special restaurant. Reservations are a must.

Had lunch at Gladchuck Bros. with a small group of friends. We went specifically on Thursday because they only have their homemade eclairs. Their summer salad with shrimp is to die for! Every piece of shrimp was seasoned well and cooked to perfection! Every piece of fruit was perfectly ripe! A friend shared her perogies and her fried oysters, which were both exceptional (sorry I didn't get a picture of those two items). But, oooohhh the eclairs!!! Words can't even capture the heaven that I experienced when I bit into it the first bite! Its definitely going to be a place I will return to often!

March 7, 2025 - Looking for a quiet “top notch” casual dining experience, Gladchuk Brothers provides QUALITY food for almost 40 years ! Credit goes to John ( Head Chef) , Steve (Logistics Front End) , and Bob ( Financial Officer) as they operate their family business in harmony. They started in 1988 ! *All soups, sauces, and desserts homemade * Carry out is available *Catering is available *Special Events hold 75 in dining room *4 course Wine Dinners before Covid ( maybe their will resume their Wine Dinners) *German Food is Authentic, and available *Employees treated like family *Customers are often Friends *Menus shorter , but Quality & Service vital *Menus change with the Seasons My wife & I had dined here over 20 years ago, thought we’d try lunch today! Brent was the Host who offered us any table. He handed us the menus, explained the specials, then offered to whip up our drinks ( as the multi-talented Bartender)! Several other diners entered the restaurant, and were greeted by Brent! As we waited, I walked around to take photos of this restaurant. . . Quickly noticed that REAL flowers were in a vase on each table in the restaurant. A practice few restaurants are willing to provide these days. My Raspberry & Lime margarita arrived, as did my wife’s Raspberry & Lime seltzer tonic ! Refreshing and tasty on both counts! After a few minutes Brent returned with 2 fresh baked raisin rolls. Slightly warm , and the butter melted quickly when applied! Then Brent delivered my appetizer, warm homemade Maryland crab soup! The white cream soup was delicious! I complimented Brent on his timing. . . just as I finished my Maryland Cream of Crab Soup, he delivered my Turkey with homemade gravy & Stuffing, w/walnuts, homemade cranberry sauce , and medley of vegetables! All hot , delicious, and delightful! My wife loved her Turkey croissant , with stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy! Geez, stuffed to the gills! We asked for a piece of the Raspberry layer cake with coconut frosting in a carry out container! Wow, that was fresh, moist, and delicious! Thanks and A+ to Head Chef John for a wonderful lunch today! The service was fantastic, kudos to Brent our multi-faceted staff guru ! We’ll definitely return for future culinary delights!

This place has been owned by a group of brothers for a long time. They work the store daily. One of them was our host, Sean, and he was very pleasant to deal with. All the staff was great and the service was really good as well. The food was delicious, and they had a great selection. The pierogis were delicious and cooked perfectly. All the food and drinks were fantastic. The best oysters Rockefeller i have ever had!!! This is a must stop by place if you are in Frederick!!!

It was a great experience. We went for a Christmas lunch for work and it was amazing. We loved the gingerbread display and Brent our server was very attentive and kept our drinks full. The food was delicious and plenty for the money.

The only thing that beats a good cigar is a excellent dinner before. Great food, family oriented business. My go to is the chicken liver and onions with a heaping amount of butternut squash. Food is delicious and the atmosphere and staff is perfect. Cocktails are poured to perfection.

The food was good but but pretty pricey. Two soups a burger and turkey was 95.00. They were busy and a bit understaffed.
